Innovation is at the core of our sustainability project. We continuously strive to improve our processes to minimize our ecological impact while maximizing guest comfort. Our innovative initiatives include the implementation of fuel-saving systems, such as electrical batteries that recharge during the day, reducing the need for generator usage at night.

This approach optimizes generator efficiency, resulting in lower fuel consumption, reduced noise and air pollution, and a more serene environment. We have also installed a modern water treatment plant that provides purified water, significantly reducing the use of plastic bottles within the lodge.

Water innovations

Our eco-lodge is committed to innovative water conservation and treatment methods. We utilize an advanced system that cleans and filters wastewater before it returns to nature, ensuring minimal environmental impact.

Also, we have implemented refillable water stations to provide filtered water and encourage the use of reusable water bottles, effectively reducing reliance on disposable plastics and promoting sustainability throughout the lodge.

Sustainable Power at La Selva

At La Selva, we prioritize sustainability by using innovative battery systems that have significantly reduced our diesel consumption and generator usage, leading to an annual reduction of 3,150 gallons of diesel. 

This has resulted in a dramatic 29% decrease in our CO2 emissions annually, significantly advancing our environmental goals. These reductions not only lower air and noise pollution, creating a healthier environment for guests and staff, but also minimize disturbances to wildlife. The economic savings from these initiatives are reinvested into community development, further enhancing our commitment to a sustainable and eco-friendly future.
